Aqua love

When did I become of the river?
When did I part with the sea?
Undulating curves drew me,
turning my back on cresting –
tantrums and oscillating tides.

Maybe I never loved the ocean?
Childhood images portray
thin skin pimpling gusts that
pushed me from cutting shore
to warm inland streams.

  1. Change, maturity and advancement wistfully represented in this contemplative autobiographical metaphor that flows pleasantly to the ear. Cute snap too.

    • I used to freeze at the seaside and lack of body fat made me a sinker in the sea – that old pic still makes feel chilly goosebumps. I’m grateful as always to see you read into my words beyond superficial surface level😊
